A Lifetime of Change

A Lifetime of Change

No other generation would have lived in a better time. If there is one word that defines the last couple of decades, it is ‘Transition’.

The harbinger of real and visible change was the IT becoming the ‘it’ industry. The quills and the Reynolds gave way to the keyboards. Then there was the

splash of colours on to the only doordarshan -monochromatic- CRTS which went on to become LCDs with multitudes of frequencies.

The liberation of the figure ‘36’ that restricted our moments of happiness by the digicams. The padminis and the Ambys being overtaken by the wagons, Volks and others.

The landlines, once lifelines are now deadlines. The billboards gave way to social media posts. The chaats and golgappas pushed aside by the KFCs and McDs. The post boxes being outdated by the inboxes.

The Tatas and the Mittals replacing the Fords and the Hiltons. The rise of the dragon and the jasmine bloom in the deserts. The STREET losing its WALL and the subcontinent holding its fort.

Looking forward to next 64 years of Transition,

Here's wishing you a very Happy Independence Day!

No doubt, with plethora of options we have added some variety to life, however when i look back, sometimes it makes me feel, that i am more confused than my previous generation, I find it hard to take a simple decision. For every decision set has N no of options and i rely on google and frnds group to buy something as simple as a mobile phone.
